9/10/97 - Extension probe fixes burnout problem
in first generation foggers

NOTE: The IST Ultrasonic Fogger has been re-engineered to work properly without needing an extension probe. This notice no longer applies. Please see "Extension Probe No Longer Needed to Work Foggers" for more information.

The first batch of IST Ultrasonic Foggers distributed in early 1997 were prone to problems with calcium deposits building up on the automatic shut off sensor causing the unit to remain continuously on and eventually burning out.

IST has developed an extension probe for the Ultrasonic Fogger that will fix this problem when installed correctly. All available units of the fogger have been recalled and are scheduled to be reshipped with the extension probe and guard packaged in by late November. For information about the availability of the new fogger units within the USA, please contact our exclusive nationwide distributor, Energy Savers Unlimited at (310) 851-8999. For availability information outside of the USA, please e-mail support@infoscantech.com.

fix for the burnout problem in the ultrasonic fogger

Owners of still working units from the first shipment should obtain extension probes and plastic guards for the unit to ensure that the unit continues to work properly. To find out how you can get an extension probe and guard for your fogger unit, please e-mail support@infoscantech.com for more information.

The extension probe only fixes problems with the unit burning out under conditions of normal use. Product failures caused by accident, misuse, abuse, or neglect are not covered under warranty and will be repaired or replaced at the owner's expense.

To ensure a long life and optimum performance from the Ultrasonic Fogger remember the following basic guidelines:

  • Always use "clean" water with the fogger
  • Water used by animals contain excess organic contents that may corrode components of the fogger and damage the unit
  • Routinely wipe the surfaces of the fogger with white vinegar and cotton to clean away calcium deposits that may have accumulated

In the USA, the Ultrasonic Fogger is
