The IST-501 is safe for use with all types of aquatic animals and plants when used as directed. For best results, the IST-501 should be used with an airstone and pump combination appropriate for the size of the treated tank to uniformly distribute the ozone treatment through the tank. Tanks using undergravel filters with airlift tubes may require an additional airstone of 1/3 to 1/2 the length of the tank for effective treatment. Depending on airflow volume and condition of treated water, the IST-501 has an approximate lifespan of two years.
